This year, the World Mental Health Day focus is on Mental Health in the Workplace. Work is the activity that we spend the majority of our physical and mental time. What we do for work is a very important component of our identities because through work we are able to express ourselves when we (co-) create, develop and implement something - either a product, a strategy, a social connection, a directive, a report, etc. So, if work is such a large part of what we do and of who we are, we need to feel that there is meaning in our jobs. And, such meaning does not need to be different from the meaning we attribute to all other aspects of our lives. Actually, it should all be under the same "umbrella" of meaning, i.e., how is what we do (at work, at home, in your relationships) a true reflection of who we are and of how we want to live our lives? Is your job allowing you the space to express who you are and what you need? If so, congratulations! If not, what are you waiting for?
